"Serious messages on terrorism and separatism becoming a global threat were given at the international forum under the motto "The threat of separatism to international peace and security" held in Brussels, Belgium," said member of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Oleg Medunitsa, who attended the forum, in his exclusive interview with AZERTAC.
Pointing to the fact that Azerbaijan was also subjected to separatism and occupation, the Ukrainian MP noted that failure to fairly resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for years has led to the expansion of the geography of terrorism and ethnic separatism. He underlined the existing double standards towards the resolution of conflicts across the world. "This factor also encourages the spread of international terrorism".
"If there was an effective fight against separatism and conflicts in the former Soviet republics, including Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, no new hotbeds of conflict would have emerged in other countries. Failure to comply with the fundamental principles of international law has led to dangerous processes on the international scene," Medunitsa said.
The Ukrainian MP emphasized that all countries and international organizations must resolutely fight against aggression and separatism.
