Georgian PM: We want to develop relations with Azerbaijan even further

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that Georgia’s strategic geographic location represents an important resource that should be fully utilized in all areas, 1TV.ge reported.

“We are focused on expanding our connections. We are very active, including in the Asian direction. We have had many important visits and meetings. We have close relations with Central Asian countries, as well as with our neighbors — Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Türkiye — and we want to develop these relations even further,” Kobakhidze told journalists in Singapore.

According to the Prime Minister, Georgia’s geographic position, along with its free trade agreements with various countries, creates strong foundations for attracting foreign interest in economic cooperation.

“We have a strategic geographic location, and using this location is very important in every respect. We also have free trade agreements with many countries, which creates a very good basis for encouraging many countries to develop economic relations with Georgia. Georgia can become a hub for different countries in many respects. Therefore, active work is needed to maximize the use of this resource,” he said.

Kobakhidze noted that Singapore is one of the important directions for Georgia, as it is among the world’s leading economies and has valuable experience in various sectors.

“Singapore has the best experience in many fields — aviation, information technologies, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and education. Deepening cooperation in all these areas will be beneficial for Georgia, primarily to better utilize our economic potential,” the Prime Minister said.

He added that Georgian ministers also held meetings with their Singaporean counterparts and discussed specific areas for strengthening cooperation, expressing confidence that these efforts would bring tangible results in the near future.
