The next feature in AZERTAC’s “If I Were a Tourist” column focuses on Sugovushan village of Aghdara district.
One of the corners of Garabagh distinguished for its tourism potential is the village of Sugovushan in the Aghdara region. The village is nestled at the foot of the Murovdag Range, on the banks of the Tartarchay River. The reservoir, commissioned in 1976, adds a special beauty to Sugovushan’s natural landscape. Throughout the year, the area captivates visitors with its enchanting scenery.
Following its liberation from occupation, extensive landscaping and restoration work was carried out in Sugovushan, and a new recreational park was established around the reservoir. Today, the park has become a favorite destination for both local residents and tourists. Walking trails along the shore, benches, gazebos, children’s playgrounds, and sports facilities offer diverse recreational opportunities for all visitors. The park also includes a tourist information center, a café, a pier, and a parking area.
The crisp mountain air, the tranquil echo of the reservoir, and the region’s picturesque landscapes leave a lasting impression on everyone who visits. Newly built highways from Tartar and Naftalan ensure comfortable travel to Sugovushan for tourists.
