The 14th edition of the Silk Road International Music Festival has started in Shaki, one of Azerbaijan’s ancient centers of art and culture.

The three-day music festival, co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Union of Azerbaijan Composers, and the Shaki City Executive Authority, has brought together renowned musical ensembles and talented musicians from Türkiye, the People’s Republic of China, and Azerbaijan.

Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC), expressed his pride in participating in the opening of this remarkable music festival in Shaki, a land of Azerbaijan with its ancient history, distinguished by its rich material and spiritual heritage.

Ravan Hasanov noted that today, peoples of different cultures live in Azerbaijan, speaking nearly 30 different languages. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is the only country that considers this diversity a national treasure.

Addressing the ceremony, Firangiz Alizada, Artistic Director of the Festival and Chair of the Azerbaijan Composers’ Union, noted that the Silk Road International Music Festival, will once again offer unforgettable moments to the people of Shaki and all the guests.

The solemn opening ceremony of the 14th Silk Road International Music Festival will be held in the evening of July 4 at the Summer Theatre of the Markhal complex.
