Speaking at the briefing, Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department, Major General Huseyn Mahmudov informed in detail the military representatives of foreign countries about the Armenian armed forces units’ deliberate provocation, committed starting from the evening of May 10, from positions in the Zod direction of the Basarkechar region, by subjecting to intensive fire the Azerbaijan Army’s opposite positions using various types of small arms.

It was stated that on May 11 and 12, the opposing side subjected to intensive fire the Azerbaijan Army’s positions using large-caliber weapons, mortars and then D-30 howitzers in order to expand the scale of provocations and further aggravate the situation. It was noted that Armenian armed forces also used attack UAVs from various directions against several positions of the Azerbaijan Army stationed in the territory of the Kalbajar district.
