“As much as 77.7 percent of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project, which envisages transportation of natural gas from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz Stage 2 to the EU countries, has been successfully implemented,” Southern Gas Corridor CJSC has told AZERTAC’s correspondent. 96.3 percent of the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) and 77.7 percent of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) works have been completed by the end of July. “The works on development of equipment and facilities for the second stage of Shah Deniz gas condensate field development ("Shah Deniz-2") within the Southern Gas Corridor project saw a 91.2 percent growth by late July, while the overall progress of the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion project reached 98.8. percent”. Once built, TAP will offer a direct and cost-effective transportation route opening up the vital Southern Gas Corridor, a 3500-kilometre long gas value chain stretching from the Caspian Sea to Europe. TAP will transport natural gas from the giant Shah Deniz II field in Azerbaijan to Europe. The 878 km long pipeline will connect with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Turkish-Greek border at Kipoi, cross Greece and Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Southern Italy. TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SOCAR (20%), Snam (20), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).
