Mexico-based Notimex agency has published an article highlighting the Armenian aggression. Headlined "Azerbaijan - the nation seeking peace for decades" the article is based on the interview of Charge d'Affaires of the Azerbaijani Embassy in the country Mammad Talibov.
The article says that the Armenian aggression resulted in the killing of tens of thousands of Azerbaijanis causing damage to the country worth billions of dollars. "Despite all this, Azerbaijan, which has a multicultural society always wants to achieve peace."
The article draws readers` attention to the fact that Azerbaijan`s Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent districts, including Lachin, Kalbadjar, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan were occupied by Armenia and the Azerbaijanis living in these territories were displaced from their native lands.
Citing the Azerbaijani diplomat, the article notes that the so-called "referendum" is another provocation committed by the Armenians in order to undermine the peace process in the occupied territories, was officially condemned by a number of countries.
The article also says that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries issued statements on the unacceptability and unsustainability of the current status-quo.
The article quotes the Azerbaijani diplomat as saying: "The people of Azerbaijan are peace-loving people. Representatives of different religions and cultures have lived in peace and tranquility for many years in the country. The occupation of the Azerbaijani lands is the only obstacle to the establishment of peace in the region."
The article also points out the UN Security Council`s four resolutions demanding the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian troops from the occupied Azerbaijani lands, saying no country, including Mexico recognized the so-called regime established in these lands.
