USAN also launched a campaign to raise awareness of the US public, political circles, including the US President, Vice-President, Secretary of State and lawmakers about the tragedy.
The statement says: "More attacks, more deaths of innocent civilians. U.S. Azeris Network (USAN)/U.S. Turkic Network (USTN) are deeply saddened by the killings outside of Vodafone Arena and adjacent park in Istanbul, perpetrated by Kurdish terrorists on Saturday, December 10. We call on all of our friends to support Turkey in its darkest days by sending the following letter to their elected officials and local media, urging them to do everything in their power to block any financial aid to groups that may benefit terrorists' activities against Turkey and elsewhere.”
“Terrorist attacks are not new to Turkey. Turkey has gone through bitter years of PKK-committed terrorist attacks and had been the target of Armenian terrorism for several decades.
Turkish people have stood firm against any violence against its citizens and the sovereignty of Turkey, and terrorism in general, which is why Turkey is this strong a state today. As a proud nation, Turkey has been at the forefront on counter-terrorism for the peace and stability around the world.”
“On these tragic days for Turkic people, we as Azerbaijani Americans join the people of Turkey in sharing sorrow and express our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died and keep them in our prayers. May the victims of this tragedy rest in peace," USAN says in the statement.
